Golf Chipping Tips- Relax and Keep It Simple
Golf Chipping Tips That Can Be Game-Changers
Two things to emphasize when discussing golf chipping tips: relax and keep everything very basic and simple. Things will then get very easy. The significance that chipping has with your game around the green can’t be overemphasized. So if you want to make yourself feel better about your game, get a couple of buckets of golf balls and head towards the driving range. But if you are looking to knock golf strokes off your score and keep them off, break out eight balls and head to the putting green. When you learn these golf chipping guidelines your score is going to go down.
I assume you’re here because you want to improve your chipping, and we think you will find an interesting video on fixing some of the common faults of the chip shot. Another article we recommend concerns putting touch and feel into your chipping technique.
Start by Keeping It Simple
As with all golf opinions I give, the first thing I’ll advocate with these golf chipping tips: keep it simple and be consistent. To the consistent component, I do know numerous instructors think it best to use various irons for different chip golf shots, depending on the length of the chip. I prefer using the wedge on over 90% of my chip shots, but it may be any single club that you are feeling comfortable using.
The reason for this is then I can devote nearly all of my practice time using the golf club I’ll most likely be using for that shot on the course. For me this will be the lofted wedge. It should feel more comfortable than using a variety of clubs for nearly the same golf shot, and I feel I will maintain greater consistency when the only variable is going to be how hard I strike the golf ball, but that’s just an individual thing.
The Stroke Must Always Be the Consistent.
1. At address, the weight should be forward and should by no means shift back, the stance should be open to allow it to be easier for your hands to lead through the golf ball, and the ball ought to be back in your stance enough to insure a clean golf ball strike. The hands will always be in front of the ball.
2. It is my opinion most mid to high handicap golfers take the golf club back too far on the back swing. When the club is taken back a lesser distance you are going to be in a position to speed up through the ball, and
therefore you achieve more control when accelerating.
3. This will be crucial: keep your left arm straight and your wrist firm. The actual stroke at the time of striking the ball feels somewhat like the putting stroke; if you did not keep a firm wrist with your putt at contact, you would most likely launch the golf ball airborne with your putter. Only the loft in the club ought to launch the ball airborne on the chip, not the hand action.
If you are trying to flip the club face into the ball, you are making the golf shot much harder than it needs to be. This flop shot can be carried out using this technique, but it can be a difficult shot that needs a lot of finesse. It’s less difficult to utilize a lob wedge for the flop shot, and much more reliable. As acknowledged earlier, using these golf chipping tips to perfect your chipping is going to enable you to get the ball close to the hole on a consistent basis, and nothing decreases your score round after round more than getting the ball up and down in two every time.
